Sarah Baxter is a columnist and former deputy editor of the Sunday Times. She started her career in publishing, working for Penguin and Virago Press, before joining Time Out as a news reporter. She went on to serve as political editor of the New Statesman and subsequently News Review editor of the Sunday Times. In 2001, she was New York correspondent of the paper, reporting on the 9/11 attacks, and then Washington Bureau Chief, covering the election of Barack Obama. She returned to the UK to edit the Sunday Times magazine and was deputy editor of the paper from 2013-19. She is now back in the US, covering the 2020 presidential election.
