Lindsey Hilsum is the International Editor of Channel 4 News, and the author of a forthcoming book, “In Extremis; the Life of War Correspondent Marie Colvin.” She has covered conflict and international affairs for 30 years, reporting in recent times from Saudi Arabia, the USA, Syria, Ukraine and Libya. She covered the 2003 invasion of Iraq from Baghdad, the 1999 war in Kosovo from Belgrade and was the only English-speaking foreign correspondent in Rwanda when the genocide started in 1994. She has won several awards for her TV reporting and writes regularly for the New York Review of Books, Granta and several British newspapers. Her book “Sandstorm; Libya in the Time of Revolution” was shortlisted for the Guardian First Book Award.
